Persita Tangerang Fires Divaldo Alves From The Coach Chair

JAKARTA - Persita Tangerang officially fired Divaldo Alves from the coaching chair. This happened in the midst of the club's efforts not to be thrown into relegation.

The announcement of the separation was made by the club nicknamed the Cisadane Warrior in an Instagram post on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

"We agreed to part with coach Divaldo Alves. Thank you for your dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work while in Persita," Persita wrote.

The club ended their collaboration with the Portuguese coach after previously losing 1-4 against Dewa United, on Wednesday, March 27 evening.

Divaldo Alves has been appointed to coach Persita since September 2023. He took up the chair to replace the previous coach, Luistuno Duran.

In total he handled 18 League 1 matches this season with Persita. However, only four wins for the team.

The rest he lost eight times and drew six times. In the last eight appearances, Persita even only won one full point.

The latest result against Dewa made Persita now close to the relegation zone. They are currently in 15th position with a collection of 31 points.

The number of points is the same as Arema's, which is one place below them, namely in the relegation zone. For this reason, Persita's position is still very vulnerable.
