Secure Sri Lanka International Challenge Title, Rahmat/Yeremia Face-to-face BATC 2024

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles, Rahmat Hidayat/Yeremia Rambitan, won the title at the Sri Lanka International Challenge 2024. This success ignited their enthusiasm to perform better in the 2024 Badminton Asia Team Championships.

Rahmat/Yeremia confirmed the Sri Lanka International Challenge 2024 title after overthrowing Malaysian doubles, Bryan Jeremy Gooting/M. Fazriq Mohamad Razif. Appearing in the final on Sunday, February 11, 2024, WIB night, Rahmat/Yeremia closed the match with a score of 18-21, 21-15, and 21-15.

Even though he was left behind in the early game, the struggle at the end which bore fruit made Rahmat claim to be happy. There are a number of things that he feels are not yet optimal, but for him the performance in the final was able to highlight the fighting spirit on the field.

Moreover, this is a new moment for him to become Yeremia's duet partner. He also hopes that his cooperation with Yeremia in the future can be more solid, including in terms of position rotation and how to play.

"It must be nice as a new partner to be a champion even though there are still many shortcomings that need to be improved. In this tournament we maintain our enthusiasm and focus on the field. We are not slack from one match to another," said Rahmat Hidayat.

"The more we feel the better, the better the chemistry. However, the name of the new partner can't go directly. So, we are still looking for it together," said Rahmat, quoted from the PBSI release, Monday, February 12, 2024.

No less happy and enthusiastic about Rahmat, Jeremiah also considers the title secured in Sri Lanka to be their slick capital to win the title in a higher tournament.

"This title is an additional enthusiasm and motivation for us to win titles in tournaments with higher levels," said Yeremia.

"We are getting more and more compact in the field every day. We have started to understand each other and have found some suitable pattern of play," he said.

After winning in Sri Lanka, Rahmat/Yeremia will join the Indonesian Team competing in the 2024 Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC) in Malaysia this week. This newly secured victory is clearly an impetus to appear more confident.

"After this, we will go directly to Malaysia to join the men's team team at BATC 2024. This title will certainly increase our confidence. If it is later deployed, we are ready to donate points," said Yeremia.
