AGO: State Loss IDR 310.61 Trillion Due To Corruption Cases

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) recorded that the total state losses due to corruption cases in 2024 reached Rp310.61 trillion, US$7.88 million, and 58.135 kilograms of gold.

Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Harli Siregar, revealed that throughout 2024, the AGO conducted an investigation into 2,316 corruption cases, 1,589 investigations, 2,036 prosecution cases, and 1,836 executions.

"Then there were also 511 appeal legal remedies, 420 cassation cases, and 59 judicial reviews of corruption crimes," said Harli, Tuesday, December 31.

He detailed that the state loss figure consisted of alleged corruption in tin commodity trading procedures in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk in 2015-2022 with a total state loss of Rp. 300 trillion and an alleged corruption of Besitang-Langsa worth Rp. 1 trillion.

Then, allegations of corruption in the abuse of authority and sale of gold by the Mulia Metal Gold Boutique (BELM) Surabaya 01 Antam Rp1.07 trillion and 58,135 kg of gold as well as allegations of corruption in the management of gold commodities in 2010-2022 Rp24.58 billion.

Then, including the alleged corruption of Duta Palma worth IDR 4.79 trillion and 7.88 million US dollars as well as allegations of corruption in sugar imports at the Ministry of Trade for the 2015-2023 period amounting to IDR 400 billion.

In addition to corruption, he mentioned that there were other crimes handled by the AGO, namely taxation, customs, and excise.

Tax crimes include the demands of 73 cases, the execution of 51 cases, the legal action against eight cases, the cassation of three cases, and the review of three cases.

Meanwhile, customs crimes consist of 51 cases of prosecution, 35 cases of execution, two cases of appeal, three cases of cassation, and three cases of PK.

Harli continued, there were also criminal acts of excise with a total prosecution of 157 cases, execution of 131 cases, appeal to 17 cases, and cassation of 13 cases.

In addition, 184 cases were also recorded that attracted the attention of the people throughout Indonesia so far this year.
