Liverpool Can Be Affected, Jurgen Klopp Is Dizzy With Mohamed Salah's Injury

JAKARTA - Egyptian star Mohamed Salah's injury made Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp dizzy. The reason is, it is not certain the condition of Salah's injury in the match against Ghana in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Salah suffered an injury in Group B match at the Felix Houfouet-Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, Friday, January 19, 2024, early morning WIB. As a result of his injury, he was withdrawn after playing for 45 minutes.

Egypt coach, Rui Vitoria, said Salah's injury was not serious. However, he could not confirm whether the 31-year-old had recovered quickly or had to rest for several days.

Klopp was also dizzy by the player's injury. He doesn't know for sure what Salah's condition is. Of course, the Reds' mainstay suffered a hamstring injury.

"We didn't get any information. I did have a chance to talk to him and ask about his condition. They are still providing treatment. We will immediately find out how his condition is," said Klopp.

"He is still devastated by his injury. He is also confused about why he was hit hard enough," he said.

"Players suffer from hamstring injuries in different ways. However, I did not receive further information," said the former Borussia Dortmund.

When asked about the possibility of sending club paramedics to Ivory Coast to help with Salah's treatment, Klopp still has not confirmed it.

"We'll see. It depends on how the diagnosis is. Of course there are plans to send a medical team. But it's too early (for now)," he said.

Players usually need to recover from a hamstring injury for several weeks. If the injury is serious enough, Salah is in danger of ending the Africa Cup of Nations sooner.

Moreover, Egypt has only pocketed two points from two matches that ended in a draw. Previously, Egypt was detained by Mozambique 2-2.
