Madueke's Last Minute Penalty 'Super-sub' Brings Chelsea To Beat Crystal Palace

JAKARTA - Chelsea won an important 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the London Derby in the English Premier League competition at Stamford Bridge Stadium, Thursday, December 28 in the morning WIB. The super-sub Penalty Noni Madueke last minute won Chelsea.

Chelsea managed to get up to beat Palace in a duel between fellow London City teams on Boxing Day. This result is at least quite a relief for manager Mauricio Pochettino considering Chelsea's performance is still unstable.

Yes, Chelsea had won 2-0 over Sheffield United after losing twice in a row against Manchester United and Everton.

After winning over Sheff. United, The Blues also achieved success in the Carabao Cup. They got rid of Newcastle United on penalties.

However, Chelsea failed to maintain performance when they visited Wolverhampton Wanderers' headquarters. In the away duel in the competition, the West London club had to recognize Wolves' lead 2-1.

Pochettino said Chelsea's performance was still unstable because the team needed time to unite.

Moreover, many players in the Chelsea squad have played in the Premier League for the first time. Some of them are also young and have minimal experience competing in the Premier League.

However, Chelsea did not take long to get up and get back on track. The match against Palace, which has always made it difficult for these London teams to start Chelsea's starting point to improve their rankings to get to the top.

Unfortunately the goal was disallowed after the referee reviewed it via VAR. Jackson was declared offside so his goal was canceled.

Chelsea's wait to win the match finally arrived when they were about to enter injury time.

The hosts received an underprivileged reward following a violation by midfielder Eberechi Eze. He brought down Madueke in the forbidden box.

Referee Michael Salisbury briefly reviewed the incident via VAR. As a result, Eze was declared to have committed a violation and the referee pointed to the spot.

Madueke himself completed the penalty in the 89th minute. Score 2-1 for Chelsea and stay until the end of the match.
