Argentine U-17 Vs Mali U-17 Preview: Team Two Sharp Tests

JAKARTA The Argentine U-17 will face Mali U-17 in the race for third place in the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Friday, December 1, 2023, at 19.00 WIB.

Both teams failed to reach the final after losing in the semifinals on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Argentina U-17 failed to realize its dream after being beaten by Germany U-17, while Mali U-17 was chaired by France U-17.

La Albicelestes played 3-3 in normal time. Diego Placente's team then lost 2-4 in the penalty shootout.

Meanwhile, Mali U-17 lost dramatically to the Malam. This defeat made Les Aigles fail to repeat their success to reach the final in 2015.

Mali U-17 actually had the lead at the end of the first half. However, they were then hit by a comeback in the second half after playing in a position losing to the number of players due to Souleymane Sanogo's red card.

So far Mali U-17 is the only team to successfully break into the U-17 French goal. An additional goal against Les Bleus made their collection of goals now 15.

Apart from being productive in scoring goals, Mali U-17's defense record is also quite solid. Of the six matches played, their goal was only conceded four times.

Shifting to the Tango Team, the defeat against Germany U-17 made Argentina U-17 fail to pass the semifinals for the sixth time in the history of participation in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

They have previously been recorded as semifinalists five times. Three of them led to third-placed titles (1991, 1995, and 2003). While the other two editions they had to settle for being the fourth-ranked team (2001 and 2013).

Argentina U-17 is still the most productive team with a total of 19 goals. A total of 11 goals were scored in three group stage matches.

Agustin Roberto became the tournament's temporary top scorer. He has scored eight goals, three of which were in the match against Germany U-17 in the semifinals.
