Admitting The Bet For AC Milan, Sandro Tonali Is Threatened With Heavy Punishment

JAKARTA - Recognition from Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali regarding the installation of a bet or soccer gambling put him in danger of severe punishment. Tonali admitted to placing bets or playing soccer for AC Milan when he was still reinforced.

Football players are indeed prohibited from gambling football or placing bets in football matches, especially if footballers place bets for the club they are currently supporting.

This was what Tonali did while still playing at Milan. The Italian national team midfielder actually put a bet on Milan.

This was admitted by Tonali during a hearing with the Italian football federation. However, he is not always played when gambling.

The Tonali case made Italian football again face shocks. If previously there was a score-fixing scandal involving players and big clubs, now Tonali is involved in a football gambling case. Not only him but also Nicolo Zaniolo and Juventus player Nicolo Fagioli.

Fagioli himself has been sentenced to be banned from playing football for seven months. The sentence felt light because he could face up to three years if he did not cooperate during the examination.

Tonali and Zaniolo themselves underwent an examination in the middle of the national team training camp at Coverciano who competed in the Euro 2024 qualification.

In his confession in front of the officers, Tonali said he did not play soccer gambling. He only playedaps and blackjacks.

The officers then confiscated the tablets and laptops of the two players which were later repatriated by the federation. From the results of the investigation, Tonali was considered lying. Because he was caught gambling for his club, including when Tonali was not played.

With this evidence and recognition, Tonali is threatened with a maximum sentence, which is three years banned from playing. This is certainly a blow for Newcastle, who brought in the 23rd-year-old before the start of the English Premier League competition.

During his time at Milan, Tonali had scored seven goals and 13 times made assists during 130 matches in various competitions. He also played an important role in bringing Stefano Pioli's troops to the 2021/2022 Scudetto.
