Wins The Japanese GP, Max Verstappen Delivers The Constructor Champion

JAKARTA - Formula 1 racer from the Red Bull team Max Verstappen won the Japanese Grand Prix (GP) at the Suzuka Circuit on Sunday. Verstappen is ahead of two McLaren riders in second and third place, namely Lando Norris with 19.38 seconds difference and Oscar Piastri with a difference of 36.49 seconds.

Verstappen's victory confirmed his team, Red Bull, as the sixth or second F1 constructor champion in a row.

Currently Red Bull is in the top position with 623 points in the constructors' Formula 1 standings and is no longer being overtaken by its closest competitor, Mercedes, who has 305 points despite the Formula 1 race this season still having six draws left.

"The end of the week was amazing. Winning here was amazing. I think the car is working very well in every complex," said Verstappen, who has just won his 13th win of the season, reported by ANTARA, Sunday, September 24.

"The most important thing is to win the hearts of the constructors, so I am very proud of everyone who works on the track and also at the factory. We had an amazing year and I am proud of everyone," he added.

Verstappen, who started the race from the leading position, continued to maintain an almost gaping advantage.

Lando Norris won Verstappen's position when the Dutch rider entered the pit. However, Verstappen, who holds the status of defending champion, did not take long to re-seal the leading position until 53 laps of the race were over.

Norris, who had tasted the leading position in second place, was followed by his teammate Oscar Piastri who previously managed to corner George Russell.

Meanwhile, Verstappen team-mate Sergio Perez, who in this race had an incident with Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, and Esteban Ocon, failed to finish.

Meanwhile, this victory made Verstappen add his points coffers to this 16th series with an additional 26 points to 400 points.

Verstappen is far ahead of his closest competitor who is a teammate, Perez who collected 223 points.

The 17th series of Formula 1 2023 will take place two weeks later, to be precise at the Lusail Circuit, Qatar, on October 6-8.
