Watch Out Ten Hag! Your Fate Can Be Like Mourinho

JAKARTA - Manchester United (MU) manager Erik ten Hag began to be associated with the issue of dismissal. This rumor arose following an unsatisfactory score of the team nicknamed the Red Devils at the start of the 2023/20024 Premier League season.

In fact, there are those who believe that Ten Hag can experience the conditions that Jose Mourinho had experienced while handling MU.

Five matches have been played by MU at the beginning of this season. The result was two wins and three defeats. That note is certainly not the result expected as the beginning of the season.

The record made MU slump in 13th place in the English Premier League standings 2023/2024. Not only that, the Red Devils also ranked second on the team list with the highest number of conceded goals, namely 10 goals until the fifth week.

This minor note made Ten Hag's fate a sharp spotlight. Moreover, he was expected to bring MU back to glory after last season presenting the League Cup title and placing his team in the Champions League zone.

If you don't find a solution, it's not impossible that the former Ajax Amsterdam coach will be kicked out of his position. Moreover, MU is a club with high expectations.

He then compared the situation faced by Ten Hag with that faced by Jose Mourinho in the last season of handling MU, namely the 2018/2019 season. Even the situation at that time was much more complicated.

At the beginning of the 2018/2019 season under Mourinho's tutelage, MU did perform so badly that they lost two of the first three Premier League matches.

This situation made Mourinho in the spotlight and threatened with dismissal. The former Real Madrid coach immediately responded to the situation with various accusations about MU's condition which was no longer ideal.

Not only demanding MU employees to be able to improve performance, Mourinho was also reported to have clashed with club officials, including the then deputy owner of Man United, Ed Woodward.

Likewise with the news of the feud between Mourinho and Paul Pogba, who was then one of the MU stars. In the end, Mourinho received a letter of dismissal from the club's management in mid-December 2018.

At that time, the Portuguese man left Manchester United with seven wins from 17 matches on the English Premier League stage. Whereas before that season Mourinho's achievements were much better than Ten Hag by presenting trebles, namely the title of Community Shield, League Cup, and Europa League.

He then warned Ten Hag to be able to take the right steps in overcoming these problems. It must be done by Ten Hag if he does not want to have the same fate as Mourinho.
