Hong Kong Open 2023: Indonesia Strengthened by 17 Representatives

JAKARTA – Indonesia sent 17 representatives to take part in the Hong Kong Open 2023. The BWF Super 500 level event will start tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12.

Of these, men's doubles and mixed doubles still dominate with the most representatives. The two numbers each sent five representatives for this year's edition.

Following these two numbers is the men's singles sector which has three representatives. Meanwhile, the other two numbers in women's singles and doubles both have two representatives who will appear.

For women's doubles, one Indonesian representative will certainly fail in the first round. The reason is, the two representatives who came down immediately faced each other.

Later, of all the representatives sent, 16 of them will immediately appear in the main round. Meanwhile, mixed doubles Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah had to fight to qualify.

Adnan/Nita will fight for first round tickets by meeting Chiu Hsiang Chieh/Lin Xiao Min (Taiwa).

Of the list of players appearing in Hong Kong, most of them previously appeared at the China Open last week. In that event, Indonesia really slumped without a title.

In the Super 1000 level event, Indonesia's journey was the furthest in the semifinals. The only representative who could reach that round was men's singles Jonatan Christie.
