Not Long At Al Ittihad, Karim Benzema Has Threatened To Leave

JAKARTA - Unpleasant news hit Saudi Arabian club, Al Ittihad. A new player who had just been brought in from Europe, Karim Benzema, threatened to leave the club.

The threat came after Benzema made a fuss with the coach, Nuno Espirito Santo.

As is known, Benzema joined Al Ittihad after defending Real Madrid for almost 14 years. The Frenchman signed a contract to Al Ittihad for three years for exorbitant salary.

Benzema's move to the elite Saudi Pro League club was officially official last June.

However, quoted from the Daily Mail on Thursday, August 24, it was only a few months with Benzema and the team's relationship which turned out to be not harmonious. He had a fight with Santo who was said to have told the club council that Benzema did not match his game style.

After being investigated, apparently Santi never asked the team to bring in Benzema. But with the consideration of lifting prestige and the club's business in the future, Benzema was brought in.

Al Ittihad has successfully brought in four top players from elite European clubs. Apart from Benzema, the Saudi Arabian club managed to bring N'Golo Kante, Fabinho, and Jota.

A few days ago, Al Ittihad was also hit by rumors of Jota's departure, which had only been brought in for a month. The Portuguese player is claimed to want to return to Europe because he is uncomfortable playing under the leadership of coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
