KUDUS - The Djarum Badminton Scholarship General Audition is back on track. The search for potential seeds will be held on July 2-6 at GOR Jati, Kudus, Central Java.

A total of 2,220 young badminton players from all over the country will compete in this audition.

"The implementation of this general audition is PB Djarum's effort and the Djarum Foundation's Sports Service in strengthening the wheels of the badminton ecosystem in Indonesia and the regeneration process, in order to produce badminton heroes in the country in the future," said Director of the Djarum Foundation Sports Service Program. Yoppy Rosimin.

"We hope that athletes can take advantage of the best opportunity possible, as well as show maximum performance during the series of public auditions," he continued.

PB Djarum 2023 public auditions are divided into two age group categories, namely U-11, namely participants aged 8-10 years or born from 2013 to 2015, and U-13, namely participants aged 11-12 years or born from 2011 to 2012, both from children and women.

The PB Djarum 2023 general audition series starts from the screening stage which is divided into two, namely playing for five minutes and playing for ten minutes. The screening process aims to see the quality of athletes' talents and techniques.

Next it will enter the tournament stage which aims to see how mentally the participants are in the competition.

For the male category, semifinalists in the U-11 and U-13 age groups will enter the quarantine stage. Meanwhile, in the women's sector, those who have the right to advance to the quarantine stage are those who make it to the final round of the tournament.

At the quarantine stage which lasts for four weeks, the participants will undergo a series of tests which include two aspects, namely physical tests and medical tests.

Physical tests are carried out to measure the endurance of athletes in competing, while health tests to see whether athletes are injured or not.

The series of tests will later become one of the considerations of the talent search team to pass the participants as PB Djarum athletes, as well as guidance for coaches in preparing coaching programs.

Chairman of the PB Djarum Sigit Budiarto Public Audit Talent Finding Team, revealed that this year's general audition assessment system was rigorously designed to attract super quality athletes in accordance with the criteria applied by PB Djarum.

"We are trying to find super talented seeds, both from a technical and non-technical perspective that are qualified in accordance with the criteria we have determined. In addition, badminton players with character and have a strong fighting spirit and mentality are also our main assessment," said Sigit Budiarto, who is also the world champion badminton player in the men's doubles sector in 1997.
