JAKARTA - Bayern Munich coach, Julian Nagelsmann, recently complained. He felt management was slow in moving to find a solution to the injury to the main goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Nagelsmann said he needed a new goalkeeper to replace Neuer. Shortly after the coach's statement, Bayern's management immediately moved quickly.

Not long ago, Bavarian immediately announced the arrival of a new goalkeeper. He is Yann Sommer who was brought in from Borussia Moenchengladbach.

"Yann Sommer! The 34-year-old goalkeeper has joined FC Bayern from Borussia Monchengladbach. Apart from having a wealth of experience, the Swiss goalkeeper also brings quality on and off the pitch," Bayern wrote on their website.

Sommer is contracted to Bayern until the summer of 2025 or one year longer than Neuer's current contract which ends in 2024.

German media Bild reported Bayern would spend eight million euros (IDR 121 billion), plus 1.5 million (IDR 22.7 billion) if Bayern won the Bundesliga, German Cup, and Champions League.

Sommer actually arrived in Munich, Wednesday evening local time, and underwent a medical test Thursday morning. He then trained in a Bayern jersey with the rest of the team before the club made their official announcement.

The goalkeeper, who played 272 league games for Gladbach since joining from Swiss club Basel in 2014, is considered one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

He broke the Bundesliga save record of 19 in his side's 1-1 draw against Bayern in August last year which was then unbeaten.
