The Indonesian National Team Will Compete at the BMX World Championship in Colombia

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will participate in four series of the 2022 World Championships or UCI BMX Racing World Cup in Bogota, Colombia.

The Indonesian national team fielded representatives who will appear in the categories of Elite and U-23. The team will depart for Bogota on Tuesday, September 20 evening in Indonesian Western Time (WIB).

"After honing their skills in Malaysia at the Asian Championships, last month, the BMX national team will again hone its skills in the World Cup which is rolling in Colombia," said Secretary General of the Indonesian Cycling Association (PB ISSI), Parama Nurgoho, as quoted by Antara.

In the tournament which was held from September 24-25 and October 1-2, I Gusti Bagus Saputra and Yussi Wakidur will participate in the Elite Putra category.

Meanwhile, Fasya Ahsyana, Aditya Putu Soekarno, and Muhammad Al Fauzan competed in the U-23 Men category.

In the U-23 Women category, Indonesia is represented by Syifa Amellia and Jasmine Azzahra Setyobudi.

Previously, the Indonesian BMX national team also competed in the 2022 Asian BMX Championship and Malaysia BMX International Race, last month.

In the 2022 Asian BMX Championship, Indonesia won five silver medals and one bronze.

Jasmine Azzahra Setyobudi (women's juniors), Muhammad I Gusti Bagus Saputra (men's elite), Ibnu Rusyid (men's jockeys), Fasya Ahsana (men's U-23), and Amelya Nur Sifa (women elite). The bronze was won by Yussi Wakhidur in the men's elite.

As for the Malaysia BMX International Race, Indonesia brought home one gold through Jasmine.

Then four silver medals through I Gusti Bagus, Amelya, Fasya, and Muhammad Al Fauzan. Then two bronze medals, respectively, Yussi and Ibnu.
