Manchester United In Negotiations With Real Madrid Player Marcos Asensio's Agent, First Offer Has Been Made

JAKARTA - Manchester United secretly approached Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio. In fact, reportedly, an offer has been submitted.

Manchester United are in negotiations with Asensio's agent, Jorge Mendes. In that meeting, the club has made their first offer.

It is believed Real Madrid will ask for at least 50 million euros for Asensio, as quoted by Football Spain. The Spaniard's contract expires in June 2023.

Manchester United are currently trying to rebuild their midfield after a number of players decided to leave. Asensio is seen as a suitable figure to fill the Red Devils' midfield.

This season, Marco Asensio gets tough competition in the Real Madrid squad. He made 31 appearances in La Liga, 12 of which came off the bench.

Similar numbers to his midfield rival, Federico Valverde.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti a few weeks ago had praised Asensio, but it is believed the Italian coach will not include the 26-year-old as a key figure for Los Blancos next season.

Marco Asensio was recorded to have come to Real Madrid from RCD Mallorca in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee of around 4 million euros or around IDR 61 billion.

During his time with Real Madrid, Asensio has made 235 appearances in various competitions and contributed 49 goals and 24 assists from 12,240 minutes played. In addition, he also contributed three Spanish League titles, three Spanish Super Cup titles, and three Champions League titles.
