Bend South Korea, Indonesian Women's Team Qualifies As Group Winner At The 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships

JAKARTA — The women's singles badminton player, Stephanie Widjaja, managed to determine Indonesia's victory over South Korea in the final match of Group Z of the 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships.

Stephanie, who played in the last match, defeated Kim Joo Eun with a score of 21-11, 21-13 in a duration of 34 minutes at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, on Thursday, 17 February.

These results made Indonesia also ensure a 3-2 victory over Korea. Thus, the Merah Putih team has the right to qualify as group winners to the semifinals, while Korea is the runner-up.

The first point for Indonesia in this party was awarded by the women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. She only needed 26 minutes to win 21-6, 21-18 over Sim Yujin.

Korea was able to rise after that and won 2-1 over Indonesia. This was after the defeat of the women's doubles by Febriana Dwiuji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi and the women's singles by Putri Kusuma Wardani.

Febri/Amalia lost dramatically to the pair Baek Ha Na/Seong Seung Yeon with a tight score of 20-22 and 19-21. Meanwhile, Putri Kusuma Wardani had to admit her opponent Lee Se Yeon 16-21, 19-21.

Indonesia then managed to identify the score in the fourth match. The pair Nita Violina Marwah/Lanny Tria Mayasari equalized to 2-2 after beating Kim Min Ji/Lee Seo Jin 21-16, 22-20.

Meanwhile, Stephanie, who played in the deciding party, managed to appear dominant throughout the match.

She only struggled at the beginning of the first and second sets, but managed to maintain the lead while leading to seal victory for Indonesia.

Previously, the men's team also won a dramatic victory over South Korea with an identical score of 3-2. Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo and friends still have one match tomorrow against India.
