Manchester United Invites Fans To Change Greenwood Jerseys For Free

JAKARTA - The case of alleged violence by Manchester United (MU) striker Mason Greenwood to his girlfriend had a major impact on the footballer's career. Most recently, Greenwood was suspended from the squad indefinitely.

Because of that status, Manchester United's management then announced to fans that they would serve exchange jerseys with Greenwood's name and number for free.

Reporting from The Sun, Thursday, February 3, a spokesman for Manchester United has said that fans can replace their Greenwood jersey with a new jersey as desired. The exchange according to the spokesman will be served by the club free of charge.

This step was taken by MU because management realized that what the players had done had clearly disappointed many parties.

Previously, the club had also seen and responded to the case that happened to Greenwood. But the Red Devils were reluctant to comment much and chose to wait for this case to be resolved by the authorities.

"We saw the photos and allegations that developed on social media. We will not make any statements until the facts about this case are revealed", said the MU statement regarding Greenwood's status.

Greenwood himself was arrested by the Manchester police on Sunday, January 30. He was arrested for alleged incidents of sexual assault and assault on his girlfriend, Harriet Robson.

The case began when Robson's short video went viral on social media. The video shows Robson's face swollen and bleeding lips, the incident was allegedly carried out by Greenwood, who was annoyed by Robson's refusal to have sex.

After being detained by the police, Greenwood was finally released on Wednesday, February 2 on bail. As a result of his actions, Greenwood was not only arrested and froze the club but also had an impact on his career in the entertainment sector.

Sports product manufacturer Nike, which made Greenwood the brand ambassador, also reportedly temporarily suspended its collaboration with the player. Meanwhile, EA Sport has confirmed its decision to remove Greenwood from its FIFA game products.
