Overthrow Malaysia's Representative, Ahsan/Hendra Win A Place To The 2022 India Open Final

JAKARTA- Indonesian men's doubles, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan successfully won a place in the final of the 2022 India Open. The result was obtained after Ahsan/Hendra defeated Malaysian representatives Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi.

In the semifinals which took place on Saturday, January 15 at K.D. Jadhav Indoor Hall, New Delhi, Ahsan/Hendra won directly in two games with a final score of 21-15, 21-18.

In the first game appearance, Ahsan/Hendra appeared with a hard smash that often made it difficult for the opponent. Ahsan/Hendra, who had a 15-8 lead, were overtaken by one point.

But Ahsan / Hendra was able to get back away. They finally secured the first game 21-15 through Ahsan's hard stroke in front of the net.

Entering the second game, it was Ong/Teo's turn to play more aggressively because they were able to score 6-1 points at the beginning of the match. However, the situation did not last long because Ahsan / Hendra were able to win nine consecutive points to turn back to winning 10-6.

Ong/Teo's efforts were not broken, they slowly caught up and turned 15-13 ahead over Ahsan/Hendra. However, Ahsan/Hendra were again able to turn things around by winning five consecutive points to close the second game with a 21-18 victory.

Although it has been confirmed that they will advance to the final round of the India Open 2022, The Daddies are still waiting for their opponent to enter the final.

Later they will face the winner between Fabien Delrue/William Villeger and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty.
