Regarding The Incident of Azpilicueta Was Hit By Mane's Elbow, Tuchel: That's A Red Card!

JAKARTA - Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel opened his voice about the violent incident experienced by his player, Cesar Azpilicueta in the match against Liverpool. Tuchel firmly said the incident should have resulted in a red card for Sadio Mane.

In the 19th week of the 2021/2022 Premier League meeting, Chelsea will be able to host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, January 2. In that hot meeting, the two teams immediately stepped on the gas to attack each other.

However, despite starting the game with enthusiasm, the match did not open with numbers. Because less than one minute the match was running the referee even rewarded Liverpool with a yellow card.

This was in the aftermath of an incident by Mane for striking Azpilicueta in the face with his elbow while trying to win an aerial ball duel. This yellow card was also protested by Azpilicueta.

In line with the defender from Spain, Tuchel also raised a strong protest. Because according to the coach, Mane should have been rewarded with a red card, not a yellow card.

"I'm not a friend of the early red card. I hate to say it because I love Mane and he is a nice guy and a top player, but it was a red card!" Tuchel said, quoted by Sky Sports after the game.

"The elbow is in the face - it doesn't matter if you do this after 20 seconds or 20 minutes."

Apart from this controversial incident, the Chelsea vs Liverpool match ended in a draw with the score 2-2. The result keeps Manchester City ahead in the hunt for the top of the standings with a difference of 10 points.
