JAKARTA - Tottenham was officially eliminated from the Europa Conference League after the European Football Agency (UEFA) decided they lost to WO against Rennes.

The match on December 10 was postponed after 13 new cases of COVID-19 at the North London club.

UEFA later said the match could not be rescheduled and referred the matter to the disciplinary body.

This gave Rennes a 3-0 win and saw them top the group, with runners-up Vitesse and Spurs finishing third.

"We are disappointed with the decision by the UEFA Appeals Body and the refusal to allow more time to reschedule the match," Spurs said.

"However, we have to accept this decision and our focus now turns to the competition we are in."

Following the new COVID-19 cases, Spurs were forced to close their first-team training center with their next Premier League games against Brighton and Leicester was also postponed.

The game against Rennes is Spurs' last game in Group C of the Conference League.

Eight Spurs players and five staff members have tested positive for coronavirus. UEFA rules state that if a club has 13 fit players, including the goalkeeper, they are allowed to continue playing.
