Angelo Alessio Apologizes For Not Being Able To Present A Sweet Gift For Persija

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta coach, Angelo Alessio apologized for the bad results suffered by his team in the match against Borneo FC. Alessio failed to present a victory for the Kemayoran Tigers who had just celebrated their 93rd anniversary.

"I apologize to all Persija supporters for not being able to give a special gift on this 93rd anniversary," Alessio said in a written statement received by VOI, Tuesday, November 30.

Persija's defeat occurred in the 14th week of Liga 1 2021 which took place last Monday. Facing Borneo FC at the Moch Soebroto Stadium, Magelang, Persija were forced to go home with their faces down because they lost 1-2.

The result was clearly a blow to Alessio, who had previously promised to offer three points. This was said by the Italian coach the day before the match, which also coincided with Persija's anniversary.

Despite failing to present a victory, Alessio was reluctant to lament too much. He was determined to immediately prepare his team as best as possible to face Tira Persikabo.

"But that's football. We have to accept whatever happened today," he continued.

"We will fix everything, the most important thing now is how we get up to prepare for the next match (against Tira Persikabo)," said Alessio.

Persija Jakarta celebrates its anniversary on November 28. For 93 years, the club, the pride of the city of Jakarta, has won nine titles since the era of the union competition in 1931.
