Neue Classe Test Model Appears At BMW Group Factory In Hungary, Production At The End Of 2025

JAKARTA - BMW Group has announced that it will start the first phase of production of the Neue Classe-based model for its future electric vehicle (EV) which will take place at the Debrecen facility, Hungary.

BMW AG Production Board of Management, Milan Nedeljkovic said this was an important milestone for the plant in producing the latest electric cars from this brand.

"The production of the first test vehicle in Debrecen is an important milestone in the operation of a new plant," he said on the official BMW Group website, Thursday, November 20.

As part of this process, test vehicles that leave the factory will carry out cycles through all production steps. This means that the entire logistics process, manufacturing equipment, and operations carried out by employees at the factory must function smoothly.

Thus, the process has a similar complexity level as the actual version. Even though the number of spare parts involved is limited, these spare parts must still be available in the appropriate logistics process.

Vehicle materials and parts are delivered daily to the Debrecen plant, with test vehicles leaving the production phase in a sustainable manner. Despite exiting in prototypical conditions, each section and production step is carefully monitored.

Special attention is paid to the validation of its advanced systems and technology devices, including its digital connectivity.

Running this process is to help identify potential optimization at a further level. In the coming months, manufacturers will focus on improving the process based on the knowledge and data gained.

At this stage, the new staff will also undergo intensive training on installations and machinery. Close cooperation across the production sector will ensure a smooth integrated operation for smooth and successful car launches.

This is done so that the BMW Group prepares itself to start the production phase of the Neue Classe model which will take place at the end of 2025.
