Honda Will Present Two SUVs Until 2027 In India, One Of Them Elevate EV?

JAKARTA - Honda intends to launch two SUVs in India in the near future. It is estimated that one of the models on their list of plans is a 7-SEATER configured SUV.

Not only that, the brand with the 'H' logo is perpendicular to this one as well as expanding the utility vehicle market by presenting the EV version of the Elevate and is likely to be Honda's first electric vehicle to be presented in India, after successfully launching a gasoline version some time ago.

Launching from Gaadiwaadi, Tuesday, December 31, EV version of Eleve is expected to debut in 2026. The car with the internal DG9D code will have a modified platform to adjust the configuration of electric motors and batteries.

It was stated that the model would later be one of the many compact EV cars included in the Asian Compact Electric (ACE) program launched by Honda.

It is likely that the Elevate EV will be equipped with a battery package measuring 40-50 kWh which is claimed to provide a distance of up to 400 km in one full charge.

It is hoped that the car will become a competitor to Creta EV and Suzuki eVitara in the market. In addition, the Elevate EV will be assembled at a facility based in Tapukara, Rajasthan, India that will undergo re-assembly for the production of electric vehicles.

In addition to the Elevate EV, Honda also intends to present a 7-SEATER SUV with an estimated launch time in 2027. Carrying a three-line style, the car will be positioned above Eleve in the SUV lineup of this Japanese brand.

According to reports, this 7-SEATER SUV will be the first model to have the latest PF2 platform which is now in the development stage. Honda said this base is flexiblely capable of accommodating EV and ICE powertrains.

The manufacturer is still silent about the powertrain, but it is estimated that it will have the same engine as the ICE version of the Elevate with a 1.5 liter naturally-assisted engine. In addition, it is likely that Honda will also present it in a hybrid version.

The design and development of this car is being handled by Honda in Japan and its central and development bases in Thailand.
