Thousands Of Kia EV9 Owners Affected By Recalls In The US, Here's The Problem

JAKARTA - Thousands of Kia EV9 owners in the United States (US) have to bite their fingers. The South Korean car manufacturer was forced to recall 22,883 EV9 units due to problems found in the second and third row seat folding mechanisms. This damage has the potential to pose a safety risk for passengers, especially during sudden braking or accidents.

Quoting from the Carscoops page, Tuesday, December 31, based on information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Agency (NHTSA) this recall for production in 2024 and 2025.

The South Korean brand first became aware of the problem in September, when the EV9 model reportedly lost its third row seat installation bolts, then the second model was found a few days later with the same problem, and there were even loss of bolts in the second row seat.

Furthermore, the manufacturer checked 990 vehicles at a port, and as a result, none of the bolts were missing.

However, although there were no reports of accidents, injuries or fires that occurred in Kia still issued a recall as a positive action, to provide a sense of security and comfort for consumers.
