EMI Will Bring The Mazda PHEV Car Line To Indonesia, CX-90?

JAKARTA - Mazda is one of many automotive manufacturers that has launched the presence of many electrification vehicles and its staff is now starting to vary.

Meanwhile, PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI) as the agent holding the Mazda brand in Indonesia, only has a single electrification line through CX-60 with mild-hybrid technology. Meanwhile, in the global market, manufacturers have a Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) to Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) line that has not been launched in the country.

PT EMI Chief Operating Officer Ricky Thio revealed that his party has not presented other electrification variants such as PHEV and BEV because this must be done in stages.

"From Mazda we stepped by step, last year we launched a CX-60 with a mild-hybrid. Next maybe a PHEV or a BEV. So, all the products launched are not only focused on one technology," Ricky said when met by reporters at Pondok Indah, Jakarta, Monday, October 21.

He added that his party already had plans to bring PHEV vehicles to the Indonesian market, but he could not provide certainty about the launch time.

"There is a plan (to present PHEV), but just wait for the time," added Ricky.

Although it has not been confirmed regarding the model, there is a possibility that PT EMI will present global products with PHEV technology to Indonesia, one of which is CX-90 PHEV.

Mazda CX-90 is a car competing in the full-size crossover SUV class in several markets, one of which is the United States (US) which then spread to several countries such as Australia and the Middle East.

This big brother of CX-60 has a similar design language like other Mazda models. It is built on the Large Platform architecture which also supports both the mild-hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) systems, thus providing the dynamics of driving with features such as the front suspension of the double wishbone, the back suspension of the multi-link, and the i-Activ AWD as the standard.

The Mazda CX-60 PHEV comes with a number of standard equipment on the exterior starting from a 19-inch silver metallic rim, LED DRL, LED tail lights, and has 21-inch aluminum alloy rims, there is a PHEV emblem on the ferry, and auto-dimming on the side mirror.

The large SUV has a 2.5 liter naturally-assisted 4-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor that produces 323 dk of power and a 500 Nm torque combined with a battery with a capacity of 17.8 kWh.

This car has the ability to run with pure electricity up to 41 km with a total range of 788 km in a state of gasoline and battery tanks.

In Uncle Sam's country, Mazda CX-90 PHEV is sold at prices ranging from 49,945 US dollars to 57,950 US dollars (Rp777.1 million to Rp901.7 million).
