JAKARTA - Recently, several automotive brands under parent company Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, namely Polestar, Lotus, and Volvo, are in partnership with British automotive manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), in building charging for EVs in China.

Reporting from Automotive News, Jum'at, December 22, the four members of the alliance will share resources and simultaneously explore innovative energy charging solutions in the region.

The alliance will also work together in setting charging standards for other luxury automotive brands. Thus, this is the second time luxury brands have formed partnerships in charging batteries in China.

Previously, a German company BMW, through BMW BRilliance Automotive Ltd together with China's Mercedes-Benz Group announced that it was establishing a joint venture to operate a charging network in the Bamboo Curtain Country.

Each company will hold 50 percent of the joint venture. Not only that, both will provide premium charging services to customers in Chinese territory.

This joint venture will build a network of 1,000 high-power charging stations and plans to add to 7,000 networks by the end of 2026. The station is said to be adopting the most advanced technology.
