India Open 2025: Rinov/Lisa Bitter Debut

The pair Rinov Rivaldy/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati in the first round of the India Open 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Rinov Rivaldy/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati immediately lost in the first round of the India Open 2025 when they made their debut as a new couple.

They lifted the suitcase faster after losing two games 17-21 and 17-21 against fourth seed from Malaysia, Goh Son Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

"The opponent played very well and tough, we were under pressure from the start and couldn't get out of that pressure," said Rinov in a statement received from PBSI Public Relations.

Rinov and Lisa were overhauled from their respective partners in December 2024. This decision was made by PBSI to refresh the mixed doubles sector.

Rinov was previously paired with Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, while Lisa duets with Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto.

"We still have to improve chemistry in the field, we have to remember each other more. There are still many mistakes," said Rinov.

Rinov/Lisa are the first representatives of Indonesia to be eliminated from this event. They will then prepare themselves to appear at the Indonesia Masters 2025 next week.

Previously, Indonesia had secured one ticket for the second half through the women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung who played alone first on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
