Bekasi Regency DPRD Member Becomes Suspect in Pengeroyokan Case, File is Submitted to the Prosecutor's Office

Bekasi - A member of the Bekasi Regency DPRD with the initials NY has been officially named a suspect in the alleged beating case. Investigators from Unit V Resmob of the Bekasi Metro Police have handed over NY along with two other suspects with the initials E and B to the Bekasi Regency District Prosecutor's Office.

Head of Public Relations of the Bekasi Metro Police, AKP Aliyani, said the transfer of the suspect and evidence or Phase II was carried out on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, after the case file was declared complete (P-21) by the prosecutor.

"Investigators from Unit V Resmob of the Bekasi Metro Police have handed over three suspects and evidence to the Public Prosecutor of the Bekasi Regency District Attorney's Office," Aliyani said in his statement, Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Aliyani explained that the case began with the alleged persecution and beating that occurred at a restaurant in the South Cikarang area, Bekasi Regency, on October 30, 2025. In the investigation of the case, the police named three people as suspects, including NY who is still in the status of active DPRD member.

"The three suspects who were handed over each had initials NY, E, and B. One of them is known to have the status of an active DPRD member," he said.

In the distribution of Phase II, the investigators also handed over evidence in the form of one piece of black clothing and one document Visum et Repertum. All suspects and evidence have been received by the Public Prosecutor to be processed to the prosecution stage.

The three suspects were charged with alleged acts of persecution and/or beating as stipulated in Article 466 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 262 of the Criminal Code.

Aliyani emphasized that the Bekasi Metro Police were committed to handling the case professionally without distinguishing the background or status of the parties involved.

"The National Police is committed to enforcing the law professionally, transparently, accountable, and impartially without discrimination and ensuring that every legal process runs in accordance with applicable regulations," he concluded.
