G'Mes Online Gathering Leads To Police Report, Victims Ask For Money Back

JAKARTA - A number of victims asked V, the owner of the G'Mes Gemilang social gathering in Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands to return their invested capital.

Dwi, one of the victims of G'Mes' online social gathering in Tanjungpinang, Wednesday, asked V to return her capital of Rp9.5 million.

Dwi has been waiting for good etiquette from V since September 28, 2021. However, the money was not returned after V closed the gathering unilaterally.

Even though on September 27, 2021 or the day after V said she didn't want to manage the social gathering anymore, the woman still opened several new social gathering groups.

Dwi and other victims finally decided to report the online social gathering to the Tanjungpinang Police Satreskrim.

"Yes, that's right, two days ago I reported the case to the police," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 28.

Head of the Tanjungpinang Police Satreskrim Commissioner Adjutant Rio Reza Parindra said his party had received a number of reports of alleged fraud on behalf of ALS alias V.

"There are reports of alleged online social gathering fraud," he said.

He revealed that the complainants reported the same thing, namely feeling aggrieved in the online social gathering transaction of G'Mes Gemilang.

"We are still investigating the case," he said.

Based on the data, more than 100 people participated in the social gathering. They come from various regions.

"The investment value in the arisan is more than Rp500 million," he said.
