JAKARTA - Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto welcomed the "Corruption Report" program launched by the South Sulawesi Police. This method is a form of transparency for the government and officials in managing the region.

"With the launch of this new program, it can become a forum for transparency of government performance in the community," said Moh Ramdhan Pomanto in Makassar, Thursday, October 7.

The recently launched Report Corruption program will serve as an incentive for the government to work professionally and transparently.

Moreover, in the corruption report program, it can also be accessed by all people who use Android or other smartphones because the Corruption Report application is already available on the Playstore.

"This is also a record for the government in working. It is more transparent in managing the region because now the era is all digital. People also easily provide information on allegations of corruption. So if you don't want to be reported, work optimally and openly," he said as quoted by Antara.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Police (Ditreskrimsus) of South Sulawesi, which has launched the program, hopes that the government can maximize its services to the community and be free from indications of corruption.

South Sulawesi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Merdisyam said the corruption reporting program was expected to be a forum for the community to oversee the management of government by officials.

"The launch of the corruption reporting program is expected to become a forum for the public so that they can easily access and report if they find indications of corruption that occurred in their area without having to report directly to the South Sulawesi Regional Police office," he said.

It is known that the Corruption Report Application is not only connected to the Special Criminal Directorate (Dirkrimsus) of the Regional Police, but also to other law enforcement agencies to accommodate information on alleged corruption.

This application can be accessed by the public by filling out a form and uploading an ID card, as an initial requirement. After that, fill in a clear address and send an electronic letter with an attachment to the documentation of the alleged criminal act of corruption.

This application also aims to minimize reporting that leads to slander or acts of defamation as well as the protection of witnesses reporting criminal acts of corruption.
