Foreign Tourist Visits Opened, Bali PHRI Prepares 35 Quarantine Hotels With A Rate Of IDR 10-25 Million For 8 Days Quarantine

DENPASAR - The opening of international flights at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, on October 14 was welcomed. The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) has prepared 35 hotels for quarantine for foreign tourists in Bali for the first phase.

"There are 35 new hotels in the first stage. But 62 hotels will follow. So, later it will be gradual, the first stage is 35, the second stage is 62 hotels which will be verified soon, depending on needs," said the Deputy Head of Culture, Environment and Public Relations of the Governing Body Regional Association of Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants (BPD PHRI) Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya in Denpasar, Wednesday, October 6.

Hotels in Bali are confirmed to be ready to accept foreign tourists who will be quarantined as required by the central government.

"But there are consequences, if quarantine hotels are for foreign tourists, they cannot be mixed with domestic ones. In addition, they cannot accept guests outside of quarantine, because we don't interfere, later if something happens it will be difficult to monitor it," he said.

"And they also have to issue a package for quarantine, 8 days temporarily. But we expect it to be as short as 3 days, maximum of 5 days. Don't take too long," added Suryawijaya.

According to him, if foreign tourists stay at the hotel for too long, their time will run out at the hotel, not for holidays and it affects the interest of foreign tourists visiting Bali.

"Because they have spent too long at the hotel. So the interest of guests to come will decrease, because we compete with other countries such as Turkey, Dubai, UAE, and they do not even quarantine. So before they leave the PCR results are negative, when they arrive in the country Turkey or Dubai is negative, they immediately travel to the city," said Suryawijaya.

Hotels that are prepared to quarantine foreign tourists vary from 5 stars to 3 stars. Meanwhile, the hotel rate for 8 days ranges from IDR 10 million to IDR 25 million depending on the star of the hotel occupied by foreign tourists.

"There are 4 stars and 5 stars, later we will have 3 stars, there will be no problem. This must have a choice from the guests, it can't be a monopoly, this is a business. So if you focus on several hotels, there is a tendency for social jealousy, don't let that happen," he said.

"I predict, for example, a 3-star hotel can reach up to IDR 10 million, a 4-star hotel to IDR 15 million, and a 5-star hotel to IDR 20 million to IDR 25 million for 8 days. That includes breakfast, launch dinner, and laundry. That's a complete package, if necessary, including PCR," said Suryawijaya.
