JAKARTA - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un pledged support for China's war against the frantic anti-China confrontational movement of enemy forces.

That was stated by Kim Jong-un in a message he sent to Chinese President Xi Jinping, on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of China's National Day every October 1, Pyongyang's state media reported Friday.

"The message expresses the belief that the dream of rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will surely come true because there is a socialist idea with Chinese characteristics for the new age," the Korean Central News Agency KCNA said, citing the Korea Times on October 1.

"The government and people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will resolutely support the Chinese party, government and people in their just struggle to defeat the frantic anti-China confrontation movement of enemy forces and defend the country's sovereignty, right to development and territorial integrity," Kim Jong-un said in the message.

The DPRK itself is known to be an abbreviation of North Korea's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Kim did not specify what the enemy's strength might be, but he appeared to be referring to the United States amid the deepening rivalry between the world's two most powerful nations.

His support for China came two days after Kim criticized Washington for its hostile policies towards North Korea and causing international relations to be reduced to a neo-Cold War structure, during a session of his parliamentary meeting held Wednesday.

In his message to President Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-un also expressed his confidence that the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries will "continue to develop in accordance" with their "common wish".
