Husband And Wife In West Jakarta Become Marijuana Dealers, 1.5 Kg Of Powder Is Seized By The Police

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police team arrested a married couple with the initials, A (35) and F (30), who were drug dealers of marijuana.

Head of the West Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Pradita Yuliandi, said the two suspects were arrested on Duta Buntu Street, Duri Kepa Village, Kebon Jeruk, on Saturday, September 18.

Pradita Yuliandi explained that the husband and wife have been working as caretakers of the rented house but have been working as marijuana dealers for the past two years.

"The husband and wife often receive packages of marijuana from a dealer in a correctional institution in Lampung Province, to be distributed in Greater Jakarta", he said.

During the operation, he said, the two suspects had sold 40 kilograms of marijuana, which are sold at various prices.

"One roll of marijuana is sold for IDR 500,000 to IDR 1 million, depending on who ordered it and where it is located", said Pradita.

Based on information from the public, the police then investigated and finally arrested two suspects.

From the suspect's hands, the police secured evidence in the form of 1.5 kilograms of marijuana that was ready to be sold.

The police are still investigating the origin of the couple's acquaintance with the marijuana dealer at the prison in Lampung. The police are also still developing information on anyone involved in helping the married couple distribute marijuana to Jabodetabek.

"The two suspects were charged with Article 114 SUB 111 junto Article 132 of Indonesian Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with life threats", said Pradita.
