JAKARTA - Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) Suharti said the love for domestic products needs to be instilled from an early age.

She believes that she can make the National Movement Proud to be Made in Indonesia (Gernas BBI) a success, with the number of educational units reaching 500,000 units and the number of students more than 60 million people.

"Through schools, students are reminded to love domestic products, love domestically-made products," she said.

Director-General of Vocational Education Kemendikbudristek, Wikan Sakarinto, said that since the BBI Gernas was launched in 2020, more than 15 million MSMEs have entered their products on electronic platforms. Seven of them are the result of onboarding Gernas BBI.

Wikan hopes that students, education staff, educators, and others can work together to restore the Indonesian economy, by buying domestic products.

Through this program, students are also involved in the learning process to produce products through applied research, entrepreneurship, to digital marketing training for vocational students focused on providing insightful knowledge and expertise in supporting the MSME orientation process.
