JAKARTA - The construction of the Jabodebek LRT project continues to be accelerated. As of September, the progress of the Jabodebek LRT infrastructure development has reached 94.36 percent. The target is that the Jabodebek LRT will operate in mid-2022.
KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said that currently KAI and other parties are preparing everything related to the operation of the LRT, both facilities, infrastructure, passenger service facilities, and the necessary licensing permits.
"As one of the National Strategic Projects, of course, the presence of the Jabodebek LRT is highly anticipated to support safe, comfortable, and traffic-free public transportation activities", said Joni in his statement, Wednesday, September 15.
Later, there will be 18 Jabodebek LRT stations that will serve the public for transportation, namely Dukuh Atas Station, Setiabudi, Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Pancoran, Cikoko, Ciliwung, Cawang, TMII, Kampung Rambutan, Ciracas, Harjamukti, Halim, Jatibening Baru, Cikunir I , Cikunir II, West Bekasi, and Jatimulya.
"The Jabodebek LRT Station is located in strategic locations ranging from residential areas to business areas. The goal is to make it easier for commuters to transport from and to the capital city or other areas", he said.
Joni explained that the LRT station consists of 2 types, namely the Interchange Station type, namely Cawang Station, and the Typical Station type for 17 other stations. The difference between this type of station is the number of lines, the area of the station, and the additional facilities in it.

The Interchange Station consists of 3 floors where the 1st floor is the boarding and commercial area, the 2nd floor is the platform area, and the 3rd floor is the commercial area. As for the Typical Station type, it consists of 2 floors, where the 1st floor is the boarding area and the 2nd floor is the platform area.
“Cawang Station is an Interchange Station because it is an interchange station or transit station. Where customers from Harjamukti Station who want to go to Jatimulya Station can stop first at Cawang Station and change trains to Jatimulya Station, or vice versa", he said.
Then, the Jabodebek LRT is equipped with access facilities in the form of escalators, stairs, and lifts, toilets, breastfeeding rooms, prayer rooms, health rooms, passenger information display system (PIDS), passenger announcements, and CCTV.
Joni continued, the Jabodebek LRT station is also integrated with various modes of public transportation. At Dukuh Atas Station, it is located near Sudirman KRL Station, BNI Dukuh Atas MRT Station, BNI City Airport Train Station, Transjakarta bus stop, and various other modes of transportation.
Then, Halim Station is integrated with the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train Station and is close to Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport.
“The Jabodebek LRT stations are located not far from the point of other public transportation modes. This will make it easier for customers who will use advanced public transportation", said Joni.
To provide convenience in using the LRT, later on, the public can take advantage of existing Transportation Electronic Money Cards (KUE), such as KMT, Electronic Money Cards, or digital wallets/e-wallet.
