Judged For Blaspheming Religion When Saying 'Why Is God Unfair,' Men In Depok Are Beaten

A man with the initials MB is suspected of being the victim of a beating by a number of perpetrators at Warung Dimsum in the Pondok Cina area, Depok, West Java, Saturday, February 15, at night.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, said the cause of the beating was because the perpetrators heard the victim's words which were considered blasphemy.

"It is true that there was a beating and or beating," said Ade Ary, Sunday, February 16.

He explained that the incident began when the victim had just arrived at Pondok Cina Station, Depok, West Java.

Furthermore, the victim at that time had run out of cellphone batteries. So he rode to the shopkeeper Dimsum in Depok to fill the battery.

While waiting for a cellphone that was being charged, the victim had said something in between, "Why is God not fair, even though there is God but why is there a lot of crime". And the perpetrator who heard reprimanded him that it was blasphemy, "he said.

Not only that, the alleged perpetrator, who numbered one person, immediately hit the victim and injured.

"The wound is on the face and head, the lips are broken and bleeding," he said.

Currently, the alleged beating is being handled by the Depok Metro Police. The goal is for further action.
