JAKARTA - The Chief of Army Staff, General TNI Andika Perkasa, reminded his staff that there is no idle or unused COVID-19 vaccine to accelerate the vaccination program in the country.

"The important thing is that we don't fight for it below and there should be no idle vaccines", The Chief said during a teleconference with the Heads of Health of the Kodam and the Head of the Army Hospital through the TNI AD YouTube channel which was monitored in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, September 12.

The chief said if there is a vaccine stock that has not been used, it must be used or distributed to the community as soon as possible so that the target of communal immunity can be realized immediately.

On the one hand, The chief understands that there are several problems in the field in terms of accelerating vaccination, including the unavailability of an appropriate second dose.

The government has tried to do its best. However, from one area to another has different problem characteristics.

"Obstacles always exist in the field and vaccination is indeed difficult to do, but the government has tried its best", he said.

Nevertheless, He emphasized that all parties must continue to try to carry out orders from the upper command as much as possible.

Finally, he reminded his staff that the implementation of mass vaccination by implementing strict health protocols has various dynamics of problems.

"We just need to run as much as possible to protect the nation and help the community from exposure to COVID-19", he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Gatot Soebroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD), Lieutenant General TNI Dr. Albertus Budi Sulistya, said the daily cases of COVID-19 and the occupancy rate of isolation rooms decreased, including in field hospitals established by the Indonesian Army.

"The permission to report is related to the field hospital, there have been no patients for three days. Everything can be managed in the treatment room", he said.
