JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Hengki Haryadi, admitted that four police officers were victims of an attack by a mob of supporters of Rizieq Shihab during a protest at the Jakarta High Court area, Monday, August 30 yesterday.

"They are the Head of Ops of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Guntur, the Intel Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, and two members of the Sabhara Metro Jaya Police", he said in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, August 31.

According to Hengki, the victims were not seriously injured, the Head of Operations at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Guntur, had fallen and was unconscious.

"He was unconscious for a long time, he fell and then regained consciousness, but was hit again", said Hengki.

In the protest action that turned into chaos, joint officers arrested 27 Rizieq Shihab sympathizers who were brought to the Metro Jaya Regional Police, and 9 others were taken to the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

From several people who were arrested, four of them were underage so their parents picked them up.

"A total of 27 went to the Regional Police, then 9 people at the Central Jakarta Police, including four minors, were immediately picked up by their parents for coordination", said Hengki.

The Head of the Cempaka Putih Police, Kompol Ade Rosa, explained that dozens of supporters were arrested because the act of expressing their opinion had turned into chaos.

The verdict of the trial has been read by the Panel of Judges of the DKI Jakarta High Court since 10.00 WIB. Supporters were allowed to go home by officers.

However, when they were about to be disbanded, the masses resisted by throwing stones at the joint officers who were securing the course of the action.

As a result, the security officers consisting of elements of the Police Mobile Brigade immediately fired tear gas to disperse the crowd away from the location of the DKI Jakarta High Court.

"This was done by officers to push the masses away from the object", said Kompol Ade.
