JAKARTA – There are several factors that support the implementation of the World Superbike in Mandalika. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said the World Superbike in Mandalika could be held if the preconditions for COVID-19 were met.

"As the pandemic situation is under control, the acceleration of the vaccination program includes tourism and creative economy workers and their families in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), especially in Central Lombok," said Sandiaga quoting Antara, Saturday, August 28.

Not only that, but the former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta also said that the availability of hospitals must be fulfilled, end-to-end CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability) certification is met, to industrial readiness. Still, said Sandiaga, the reactivation of the creative tourism sector through the concept of the travel corridor arrangement (TCA) continues to be prepared.

In addition to Bali, Batam, and Bintan which are pilot projects in the implementation of TCA, the World Superbike event which is planned to be held in Mandalika on 12-14 November 2021 is also projected to be a trial in the application of TCA because these activities are able to bring tourists from various countries.

"We have prepared this in total, both in terms of industry and regulations. If the preconditions can be met, this will be one of the events that we will try out," said the Menparekraf in the Brainstorming Forum of Heads of Indonesian Representatives in Southeast Asia.

He also encouraged creative and creative leaders in Mandalika and other super-priority destinations to prepare the characteristics of local wisdom found in their respective regions.

Deputy for Strategic Policy at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) Kurleni Ukar added that currently, her party is still coordinating with relevant ministries and institutions in implementing TCA, especially with the COVID-19 Task Force, given the very dynamic pandemic situation.

Coordination is also carried out with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to determine which countries are low risk so that later they can enter Indonesia. Also, the preparation of rules and policies is prepared based on the traveler's journey, namely before departure, during the trip, to returning to the country of origin.

"We will also conduct trials starting from charter flights in several countries. We will also prepare all health facilities and insurance," she said.
