JAKARTA - PT Kimia Farma Tbk has reduced the number of rates for COVID-19 rapid test services to the public starting today.

"Kimia Farma and all of its subsidiaries are committed to continuing to contribute to assist the government in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic", said Kimia Farma Corporate Secretary Change Winarno when confirmed from Jakarta, Antara, Monday, August 16.

Change Winarno said the service rates that have decreased include the rapid polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test from IDR 900 thousand to IDR 500 thousand, the Abbott Panbio Antigen Reagent test from IDR 190 thousand to IDR 125 thousand, and the Antigen Reagent test other than Panbio (regular) from IDR 190 thousand to IDR 85 thousand.

In addition, the SLA of PCR results is a maximum of 16 hours from the time of sampling which is valid in Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Medan, and Makassar. "The prices above are valid from August 16, 2021", he said.

Change said the policy was implemented in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the 50th Anniversary of Kimia Farma and following up on the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo's appeal regarding the price of PCR swab tests.

"Kimia Farma will follow the government's decision regarding the latest PCR test price policy. Kimia Farma supports all the best steps to speed up testing and tracing, which in the end is to accelerate the national economic recovery", he said.

Separately, the Director-General of Health Services at the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Abdul Kadir, said the government had lowered the maximum tariff limit for the PCR rapid test service in Indonesia, which will start on Tuesday, August 17 morning.

"We agreed that the maximum tariff limit for Real-Time PCR was lowered to IDR 495,000 for Java and Bali and IDR 525,000 for areas outside Java-Bali", he said.

The tariff was evaluated from the determination of the highest PCR test rate according to the Circular of the Director-General of Health and Health Number HK.0202/1/3713/2020 dated October 5, 2020, which previously reached IDR 900 thousand per person, which was carried out independently.
