Java-Bali Airplane Passengers Don't Need To Show PCR Results, Only Negative Antigen Letter, But...

JAKARTA - The Director-General of Air Relations of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Novie Riyanto said his party was discussing the derivative rules of the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 30 of 2021.

In the Ministry of Home Affairs, it is stated that prospective airplane passengers from airports throughout Java and Bali are no longer required to carry a PCR negative test letter as a health document requirement.

As for the latest requirements, quoted from Kompas on Tuesday, August 10, it is stated that airplane passengers who have been vaccinated with the complete dose/second dose can use a negative antigen test whose samples were taken the day before departure.

"Currently being discussed with the Task Force, we will try (afternoon or evening)", said Novie via text message.

Separately, the Special Staff of the Ministry of Transportation, Adita, confirmed that prospective airplane passengers from and to the island of Java and Bali can use a negative antigen test letter.

However, similar to Novie's statement, Adita stated that the implementation of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the airport will take effect after the issuance of derivative rules from the Circular (SE) of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

"Yes, (applicable) at all airports within Java-Bali, for flights to and from Java-Bali. However, for its implementation it is necessary to wait for the issuance of the SE Task Force which is adjusted in the Ministry of Home Affairs", continued Adita.

The following are the new rules regarding air flight requirements listed in the Minister of Home Affairs Number 30 of 2021:

For travel by plane between cities/districts within Java-Bali, it can show a negative antigen result whose sample was taken the day before departure provided that the second dose of vaccination has been obtained, and a negative PCR result whose sample was taken two days before departure if you just received the first dose of vaccine.
