Claims To Follow Up On BPK's Findings About Employee Salaries Still Died, Anies' Men: His Heirs Have Returned

JAKARTA - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) found that the DKI Provincial Government was still paying a number of employees who died in its 2020 financial report. However, DKI Jakarta Provincial Inspector Syaefuloh Hidayat confirmed that the DKI Provincial Government had followed up on the findings.

Syaefuloh admitted that the payment of salaries for employees who had died occurred because the relevant regional work units (SKPD) were late in reporting their employees' death certificates to the DKI Regional Personnel Agency (BKD).

As a result, salaries continue to be paid. However, after BPK's findings, Syaefuloh said the heirs of the employee had returned the overpayment of his salary.

"For the case of employees who have died, it has been done well with the heirs, they returned it to the DKI Provincial Government," said Syaefuloh in his statement, Sunday, August 8.

In addition to overpayment of salaries of deceased employees, BPK also found that there were payments of salaries of employees who were undergoing study assignments. Syaefuloh said, this is also being sought back.

"There are some employees who study assignments, but they report late, so the TKD is still paid and gets an education allowance. Even those who study assignments have been asked to return it. We will continue to coordinate so that the excess payment can be returned," he explained.

However, Syaefuloh did not explain the follow-up process for excess employees who have retired and received disciplinary punishment.

For information, Head of DKI BPK Pemut Aryo Wibowo said there was an overpayment of salaries and regional performance allowances (TKD) or TPP worth Rp862,783,587 for 103 employees in 19 regional apparatus organizations (OPD) in 2020.

Pemut explained the details of the overpayment of salaries and TKD/TPP of DKI civil servants. First, there is one employee retiring as of January 1, 2020 but still receiving a salary of Rp. 6.3 million.

Fourth, there are 31 employees from 8 OPD who carry out learning tasks but still receive TKD/TPP. The TKD/TPP given to employees who carry out the learning tasks is totaling Rp. 344.6 million.

Fifth, there are 2 employees who are subject to disciplinary punishment in the form of cutting their TKD/TPP by 20 percent for two months, but they still receive the full TKD/TPP. The non-deductible TKD/TPP for the disciplinary punishment caused an overpayment of Rp3.9 million.

Pemut said that a number of OPDs had returned the overpayment of salaries and TKD/TPP to the regional treasury, but only Rp. 200.9 million.

"So, there is still an overpayment of salaries and TKD/TPP worth IDR 661,801,780," he said.
