Sorry PPKM Emergency Is Not Yet Optimal, PPP Says Luhut Shows Greatness Of Soul

JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) positively welcomed the step of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, who apologized for the implementation of the Emergency PPKM not yet optimal.

PPP Deputy Arsul Sani assessed that Luhut's actions showed the greatness of the soul of a state official.

"Apologies like that, however, show the greatness of a public official's spirit, which hopefully will become a stepping stone to improve the work of government officials in tackling the COVID pandemic," said Arsul, Monday, July 19.

The deputy chairman of the MPR hopes that Luhut and his staff can open up space to receive various inputs and suggestions from the public. "The government does not need to listen to those whose work is only blaming, provoking but not presenting alternative policies and only starting from the horse's point of view that their opinion is the most correct," he explained.

On the other hand, Arsul asked Luhut to consider the advice of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) regarding the involvement of new doctors in handling COVID-19. Where there are 3,500 new doctors who can be involved as health workers to accelerate vaccination and other COVID control work.

“IDI said that these new doctors were hampered because there was a regulation from the Ministry of Education and Culture that doctors could only practice practice after passing the Ministry of Education and Culture competency test. In this pandemic period, we cannot use the paradigms and rules of normal times as they should be," he said.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan apologized for the non-optimal emergency PPKM. The government, he said, in the next 2-3 days will announce whether or not the emergency PPKM will be extended.

"As the coordinator of the Java Bali Emergency PPKM from the bottom of my heart, I apologize to all Indonesian people if it is still not optimal. But I along with the ranks and with the relevant ministers will continue to work hard to ensure that the spread of the delta variant can be reduced," said Luhut.
