JAKARTA - The Banjarwangi District COVID-19 Task Force, Garut Regency, West Java, has prepared a tent as a place for self-isolation for COVID-19 patients in the River Tubing natural tourist area, which is far from settlements so it is safe for residents.

"In order to get healthy quickly, isolate while having recreation in River Tubing Leuwi Paranje, Bentar Village, Peundeuy, Bojong Village, Banjarwangi District," said Banjarwangi Police Chief, First Police Inspector Asep Saepudin via cell phone in Garut, Friday.

He said that the self-isolation places for residents who were exposed to COVID-19 were deliberately prepared by the village and sub-district COVID-19 Task Force with locations that were safe, comfortable, and far from residential areas.

Meanwhile, he said, there were only eight tents prepared for the two COVID-19 patients who did not show any symptoms of illness.

"There are eight tents, currently they have been filled by two residents who are self-isolation, the condition is people without symptom," he said.

He conveyed that the establishment of an independent isolation place in the natural tourist area received support from local residents including patients who were also willing to undergo isolation in that place.

COVID-19 patients undergoing isolation, he said, received attention from the COVID-19 Task Force officers to provide all their needs, including continuously monitoring their health conditions by medical officers.

"Every day is checked by health workers," he said.

He hopes that the efforts of the community and the local COVID-19 Task Force team can help accelerate the handling of patients exposed to the COVID-19 outbreak in Garut, especially in Banjarwangi.

According to him, self-isolation at tourist sites is provided with bed facilities with sufficient sunlight, and one can enjoy a comfortable natural atmosphere and cool air so that patients feel comfortable, calm, and finally recover quickly.

"The location, which is open with direct sunlight, will be able to speed up healing, besides that it will also supply food needs," he said.
