Can't Get Vaccine, Residents In Pangka Raya Rage And Damage Medical Devices

JAKARTA - A resident of Rakumpit Subdistrict, Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan is furious because he cannot get the COVID-19 vaccine. This was confirmed by the Chief of Police for Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan, Kombes Dwi Tunggal Jaladri.

"The vaccine brought by medical officers when carrying out the ball pick-up to Rakumput Sub-district had run out, and that caused one of the residents to go berserk and even went berserk and damaged medical equipment", Jaladri said in Palangka Raya, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 7.

According to him, the incident occurred on Monday, July 5 at approximately 13.00 WIB. Regarding the punishment applied to the perpetrators of destroying medical equipment belonging to the medical team when picking up the ball in Rakumpit District by the rules of criminal law in force in Indonesia.

"After the incident, the residents in the Rakumpit District immediately secured and detained the person concerned and processed the perpetrator's actions according to the applicable rules", said Jaladri.

In another place, the Camat of Rakumpit William also confirmed the incident where there was the destruction of medical equipment belonging to medical personnel who picked up the ball for administering vaccines to residents in the area.

Before the incident, a mass vaccine activity was carried out in Bukit Sua Village with a target of 60 people. With this target, there are 30 vaccines for the residents of Bukit Sua Village and 30 people in Mungku Baru Village.

Around 13.00 WIB, a resident came who did not get the vaccine rations that had been provided by the medical team as many as 60 people.

"The person protested why the Mungku Baru Village was only allocated 90 people until then he went on a rampage and damaged the medical equipment belonging to the medical team at that location", he said.

William added that the detained residents often caused trouble in the village. After doing this, he was immediately arrested by the local police.

"The effect of this incident, of course, resulted in trauma for medical officers so that ball pick-ups in the local area will be centered on the Pager Village, Rakumpit District", he said.
