Kakorlantas Reminds Christmas And New Year's Security Must Be The Attention Of Its Members

JAKARTA - Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police Inspector General Pol. Aan Suhanan emphasized that security personnel during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays must be the full attention in their duties.

Kakorlanta said that securing the Christmas and New Year holidays included in the 2024 Candle Operation was not an ordinary routine agenda.

"The 2024 Candle Operation is not just a routine. We have to be serious about carrying out this activity even though we are only a small part of the central task force. We are members of the Kamseltibcarlantas Task Force (security, safety, order, and smooth traffic), but the implementation of our activities in Operation Candles is nothing new," said Kakorlantas in his statement, Thursday, December 19, confiscated by Antara.

The two-star general also reminded personnel that the traffic police (polantas) in the Kamseltibcarlantas Task Force have a very large role in helping smooth security on the road so that people can enjoy the Nataru holiday well.

"This is our capital as well as a challenge in how to manage homecoming, backflow, tourist flow during the Christmas and New Year holidays," he said.

Ahead of the start of the 2024 Candle Operation, Kakorlantas also advised that Korlantas always cooperate with stakeholders in providing comfort during homecoming and public tourism during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

"We must always synergize and collaborate with all stakeholders, so that later the success of this operation will be our success together with others," he said.

It is known that the 2024 Candle Operation is scheduled to last for 13 days from December 21, 2024 to January 2, 2025.

This operation includes securing places of worship, centers of crowds, and regulating traffic flow. Technological-based approaches such as cyber monitoring and the role of Interpol will also be optimized to support the maintenance of security and public order (kamtibmas).

The operation involved 141,605 joint personnel and the establishment of 2,794 posts consisting of security posts, service posts, and integrated posts.
