Surakarta City Government Prepares Cash Social Assistance For MSMEs During Emergency PPKM

SOLLO - The Surakarta City Government has prepared assistance for some communities, including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during the implementation of the emergency community activity restrictions (PPKM) on July 3-20.

The Chief Executive of the Surakarta City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Ahyani, said that the assistance to be given to business actors was provided in cash.

"Our scenario is for MSMEs, there are around 17,000 business actors", he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 1.

During Emergency PPKM, each business actor will receive cash social assistance of IDR 500,000. However, to ensure that there is no duplication of data, his party will conduct a sweep first.

"We will comb through residents who have received assistance from the central government and provincial governments. Do not allow duplication to occur", he continued.

In addition, his party will assist people who are undergoing self-isolation in their homes. Regarding this assistance, the Surakarta City Government has provided a budget of IDR 9 billion.

Meanwhile, regarding the Emergency PPKM, the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, said that the local government is tasked with implementing and securing policies from the center.

"There will be a Circular as well, Solo residents don't need to panic, this is for the good of our city, the health of our city", he said.

He also hopes that with this policy the number of COVID-19 spreads can be suppressed.
