Pekanbaru Satpol PP Persons Who Are Threatened With Sanctions

PEKANBARU - An individual member of the Pekanbaru City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and two casual daily personnel (THL) are suspected of making illegal levies (extortion) at a resident's house on Jalan Cipta Karya, Sialang Minggu Village, Binawidya District.

This was revealed by the circulation of a video on social media showing the actions of the three individuals who asked for some money from a grandmother named Mardiana. They reasoned that they asked for money for a permit to build a rented house. The alleged extortion incident occurred on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Regarding this, the Head of the Pekanbaru City Satpol PP, Zulfahmi Adrian, on Friday, June 22, immediately went to Mardiana's house to find out what really happened.

"Alhamdulillah, we have obtained detailed information. Indeed, there have been violations committed by members of the Pekanbaru City Satpol PP with the initials R and two THL personnel. Later we will follow up. If it is proven guilty, I will use my rights as Head of the Pekanbaru City Satpol PP to take actions in accordance with the rules," said Zulfahmi, Sunday, June 23.

He explained that the Rp 900.00 money requested by the three individuals had been returned to Mardiana.

Against the three individuals, he explained that there would be sanctions waiting.

"We will carry out a disciplinary process. We have terminated the contracts with the two THLs on behalf of Asriadi and Hafiz. One more civil servant (Satpol PP) we provide recommendations to the Acting Mayor through BKSDM to enforce discipline in accordance with the laws and regulations," said Zulfahmi.
