JAKARTA - Lampung Governor, Arinal Djunaidi, regretted the actions of the Deputy Regent of Central Lampung, Ardito Wijaya, who ignored health protocols amid the addition of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19.

"I regret the actions taken by one of the deputy regional heads in Lampung who ignored the health protocols", said Arinal Djunaidi, in Bandarlampung, as reported by Antara, Monday, June 28.

He said that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which was increasing, public officials should set an example for the community to obey health protocols.

"As an official, we should be an example of implementing health protocols for the community because right now we are in the middle of a health emergency and the highest law is saving the community", he said.

According to him, due to the incident, he plans to summon all regional heads in Lampung so that similar incidents do not happen again in the future.

"We can be tired but we must not be careless, because we are currently having an important issue, namely the COVID-19 pandemic", he said.

  

Arinal said that he would not tolerate officials violating health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I will not tolerate an incident like this, because we have done our best to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, but there have been unfortunate incidents like this", he said.
