KKB Shoots 3 People In Yahukimo Papua To Death, Some Residents Being Hostage

JAKARTA - The Armed Criminal Group has again carried out terror in Papua. KKB shot and held civilians hostage in Bingky Village, Yahukimo Papua.

The Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police, Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, explained that the shooting occurred at around 09.00 eastern Indonesia time, Thursday, June 24.

At that time a number of workers were working on the construction of the project. the Kali Kuk Bridge in Samboga Village, Seradala District.

"After crossing the Kali I bridge, from the Kali Kuk camp (workplace) the victim was intercepted by the Kali I KKB group with a total of 30 (thirty) people using sharp tools in the form of arrows, axes, machetes, samurai, and two people from the group. carrying 2 (two) long-barreled firearms, then heard from the leader of the group saying that 'carry out the operation and check them out'," Kamal said in a written statement to reporters, Thursday, June 24 evening.

The victim then turned back towards the Kali Kuk camp. Just then the sound of a long-barreled shot was heard and hit the windshield of the truck.

“The victim returned to his work camp PT. Seremony Kali Kuk Bingki Village to gather fellow employees and the people of Bingki Village," he continued.

The Yahukimo Police personnel later received reports of shootings against residents by KKB.

From the data received by the Papuan Police, the dead victims were Suardi, Sudarto, and Idin. While the injured victims are Saiful and Obaja Nang.

"4 people were taken hostage, still being checked," said Grand Commissioner Kamal.

The perpetrator is suspected to be a KKB led by Tendius Gwijangge alias Tendinus Murib. Currently, joint personnel are still investigating and pursuing KKB.
